SOUTHERN AMP PARTNERS WITH OXFAM NZ FOR SAMOA TSUNAMI APPEALFriday 2nd October 2009 - Southern Amp has pledged support today to the Samoa Tsunami Appeal with the event in Christchurch on 12th November becoming an official benefit concert in partnership with OXFAM New Zealand to raise and donate much needed relief funds to the thousands of families who have lost loved ones, lost their homes and lost entire communities and villages as a result of the devastating Tsunami that struck the peaceful pacific islands this week. Proceeds from the sale of tickets to Southern Amp 09 will be donated via Oxfam NZ directly to the relief programme to assist in rebuilding lives, homes and communities in Samoa. SOUTHERN AMP COMES NORTH ANNOUNCING EXCLUSIVE AUCKLAND SIDE-SHOWS!The South Island's favourite multi-stage festival Southern Amp takes a road trip to the North this year with the announcement of a series of exclusive and very limited capacity side-shows in Auckland featuring the various international visitors and some of our own local acts from the Southern Amp 09 bill.
The Main ChangesChristchurch will once again stage the South Island's biggest Multi-stage festival when Southern Amp 09 kicks into life on Thursday 12th November from 5.30pm at the Town Hall Complex in the central city. Amp-fans will not have to freak out about work or Uni the next day either with Friday 13th November being a holiday and the start of the Canterbury long weekend... After running the event for the first time at the Westpac Arena last year we learned some lessons and have changed lots of things for SAmp09 with the biggest changes being the relocation to the most prestigious live music stages in Christchurch at the Town Hall Audtorium and the James Hay Theatre. Both stages will be in operation with a 3rd DJ club stage running in Boaters Bar in the same complex. I'm Sold!
